I Love It When Wednesday (One Day Late)
I'm going to try to do this every Wednesday, because there are so many things that happen during the week that I just LOVE! Will you join me?
I Love It When. . .
. . .Elijah snuggles up into the crook of my neck and holds on tight!
. . .Elijah makes animal noises and then asks me what animal it is, then tells me which one it is!
. . .Vince does the laundry so I don't have to worry about it (what a great husband!)
. . .We go to Jungle Jim's and have a fun time looking at all the international foods!
. . .The perfect idea for Elijah's 2nd Birthday Party just falls into place!
. . .Elijah lets me rock him to sleep.
. . .We can grill out every night!
. . .Elijah swings in his swing and says, "Whee", "Whoo Hoo", and "Ye-Haw!"
. . .Elijah "sings" Old McDonald, Twinkle Twinkle, and various other songs (that we can't distinguish!
. . .Elijah looks at any picture of a baby or child, and says with delight, "BABY"
. . .Elijah runs into nursery on Sunday, because he knows it's a lot of fun!
. . .Elijah takes a bath and thinks it's hilarilous to splash me (I have fun with it at least!)
. . .Elijah actually eats something we put on his plate!
. . .Vince sends me random pictures of Elijah during the day.
What do YOU love it when. . . .?

Getting Creative For Dinner
Well, Eli has been in this stage for MONTHS where he doesn't want to eat hardly anything. And I know this is "normal" at this stage, but I still want to feel like he's eating! He will eat a little bit of something one day, and then won't eat it again for weeks. The only things that he always eats is: bananas, dried fruit (of all kinds with the exception of blueberries), corn, yogurt smoothies, nutrigrain bars, pop-tarts, french fries, and various cookies/chips (all the bad stuff of course! ha!)
He won't eat meat (with the occasional chicken nugget the exception and hot dog bite here and there), and has stopped liking most vegetables! What to do? This was his meal last night:
Corn, Pistachios, Whole Wheat Crackers with Laughing Cow cheese, Bun with peanut butter, and not pictured-a cheese stick, which he ate half of. Of this meal, he licked the cheese off the crackers, ate some of the corn, and ate a little bit of the bun with peanut butter. He also ate 4 of the pistachios. That's it. He's only gained one pound since December, but he's far from looking "malnurished" - he still has his belly and you can't see his ribs (as so wonderfully pointed out by Vince).
So my question is, what do you do to get your kids to eat? Something more than cookies and cheese puffs that is! We try a bunch of new things here and there, and revisit foods he's "rejected" in the past, but no such luck. I just want to feel like Eli is eating something, especially something healthy (of course!). Any suggestions from you moms out there?
Thanks!

Cherry Icee
Yesterday after grocery shopping, I got my usual Cherry Icee - YUM! Well, Elijah wanted a sip, and before I knew it, he had drank almost a 1/4 of the drink! He was a thirsty boy! He kept saying, "Please" and wanting more. I couldn't resist his little requests :-)

Not Feeling Well
Poor Eli was not feeling so hot last week. It started on Sunday when we got home from church and he had a fever of 102.2! He continued to have a low-grade fever for almost 3 days. He's finally on the up and up and feeling much better! Here's some pictures of my boy over the last week when he wasn't feeling so well.

ELI GIVING DADDY A RIDE
MY MAIN SQUEEZE!
Today we went to church where I got a flower and Eli made me a very nice picture with his fingerprint as the center of the flower on the picture. So cute!
Then as I was going to the nursery to pick up Eli, one of the ladies handed me a coupon for free ice cream at ColdStone Creamery!!! 2 days in a row!!! Whoo hoo!!
We got Chipotle after church and then went home to take naps! What a great weekend I had. My boys spoiled me so much! I'm so blessed to be Elijah's mommy and am so grateful for the men in my life!
Also, I'd like to wish my Mom and Grandmother Happy Mother's Day!! I wish we lived closer so we could celebrate together! I love you both so much!!!

I Love It When. . . .
. . .Elijah hugs all the girls at tumbling class and says, "Hi Baby!"
. . .Elijah has no fear, and picks a bug up off the ground to look at it.
. . .Vince brings me a rose from off of our rose bush.
. . .Elijah laughs at me when I'm curling my eyelashes, and then says, "You're Silly."
. . .Elijah and I say our prayers before bedtime, and at the end, Elijah says "AMEN!"
. . .Elijah waits for me at the gate in the living room when I get home from work, and greets me with arms wide open!
. . .Elijah falls (not the actually fall!) and then rubs his spot he fell on and says, "OW!"
. . .Elijah walks and puts his laundry in the laundry basket.
. . .Vince texts messages me on his way home from work in the morning.
. . .Elijah pours a cup of water on his head in the bath, and then looks surprised that he got wet!
. . .Elijah has something to give to me, and he says, "Here ya go Mommy."
. . .Elijah has no fear of animals and will pet a neighborhood cat in our yard (pictures below).
I certainly have a blessed life!

Elijah-Isms
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Elijah had his little people farm up on my lap the other day, and he's peeking through the openings in the farm, and kept saying, "I SEE YOU!"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
That same night we were playing with the farm, Eli started giggling and laughing at different faces and sounds I was making, and then he laughed and then looked at me and said, "YOU'RE SILLY!" He's been laughing and saying it ever since!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Elijah was sitting up on my lap and we were reading together. He stopped and turned toward me and started poking at my face. He was examining this one spot on my cheek and was looking at me inquisitively. Finally, he said, "WHAT'S THAT MOMMY." I had to tell him that mommy had a pimple! Thanks for pointing it out kiddo!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Yesterday, Eli started to feel sick and had a fever most of the day and just didn't feel well. Last night, he was sitting in Vince's lap and was just cuddling on Vince's shoulder. He started saying, "DADDY" and then he told Vince, "I'M SICK." Poor kiddo knew he was sick!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This morning when Vince got Eli up, Eli started saying, "JUICE". Vince explained to him that he needed to have his diaper changed first, and he kept asking for juice. Finally, Eli told Vince, "I WANT JUICE!" Guess he knew what would make him feel better!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
What would one of my posts be without a picture! Here's one of my little man last night!

Helping Daddy Fold the Towels
I am SO blessed to have a husband who does the laundry! It's one of my least favorite tasks, so I am VERY thankful that Vince does this chore every week! Eli decided he wanted to help Daddy fold towels tonight. Fun times!
