Swimming Lessons

Well, I bit the bullet and signed Eli up for swimming lessons at our YMCA. I didn't do the membership yet, because I'm not sure if he's going to like the lessons, so we'll see how it goes, and then determine if a membership is worth it! I'm so excited about it! Now comes the shopping for a new bathing suit for Eli and some bigger swim diapers! Anyone else out there do swimming lessons with their kids? I'd be interested to see how that went and if you'd do it again!!!

Buddy

I got this snowman from one of my manager's at work. It's only about 6 inches shorter than Eli, so he has a snowman friend almost his same size! He calls him buddy and gives him hugs and talks to him. It's so cute!!

Potty Training

So, since Eli said, "I Go Poo" the other day, we started "potty training." All we're doing is putting him on his Spongebob Potty a few times a day to get him used to it. That's the extent we're doing it! Nothing too crazy yet!!

Turner Family Christmas 2008

We had a great Christmas! We celebrated it over 3 days, so that's always fun! We had Christmas with Vince's brother and his family on Sunday and then we celebrated our family Christmas on Christmas Eve (Vince had to work Christmas Eve night). We then went to Vince's Uncle's house on Christmas day and then to my uncle's house. We had a busy day! It was great seeing everyone and spending time with family (although I miss my family back in NH and Canada!!). To see all our Christmas pictures, go HERE. The highlights are below! Hope everyone had a great Christmas!!

Happy Birthday Jeff!!

Today is my brother-in-law Jeff's birthday!! He has been married to my sister for over 11 years now, so he has been part of the family for a while! He is such a funny guy and not only that, but such a Godly influence. He just took on a church up in Newfoundland Canada and that church is very lucky to have him as their pastor. Jeff, we hope that you have a wonderful birthday and I am thankful that you are part of our family! Love you!

Weekend Fun

Last weekend we braved the cold and went out with some friends to see the Reindog Parade (everyone dresses up their dogs in Christmas garb and there's a parade)! We started the day at Krohn's Conservatory and saw the beautiful Christmas displays and the other gardens there. They also had a live nativity set up, so that was fun for Elijah to see.

WATERFALL AT THE CONSERVATORY

Then we went to Mt. Adams Bar and Grill - so yummy! It was fun being there with some friends and their family. While we were there, there was a BIG Clifford roaming around the restaurant for the Reindog Parade and we went to get a picture of Eli with him and as soon as we got close to Clifford, Eli FREAKED!! He started screaming and crying and was clinging to Vince. He came to me and was clinging even tighter. He cried for probably 20 minutes afterwards! Didn't mean to traumatize the poor child! Looks like Disney World is out of the question for a few more years!!

Well, after lunch, Eli was getting kind of cranky, and it was really cold up on the hill where the parade was going to be held. We decided to just go up to the registration area where the dogs were all gathering and take a look at some of the dogs there. Close enough to the parade. That way we could get Eli home and get a nap. Here's some of the festive dogs!

Interesting Head Gear

Eli likes to put things on his head ALL the time and just walk around the living room like that. He's so funny!

Happy Birthday Amy!

Today is my sister Amy's birthday! I hate that we can't be closer for her birthday, but we are where God would have us. Amy and her family just moved to Newfoundland Canada to fill a position at a church there. That church is very lucky!! Amy, I hope that you had a wonderful birthday today. You are not only my sister but my best friend. I know growing up we didn't get along too well, but I'm glad that age has improved our relationship and we are friends. I love you so much!!

"AHHHHH! THERE I AM!"

"YOU SEE, IT'S THAT EASY!"

My Son Is So Smart!

So, last night, Eli was in the living room with Vince playing while I was getting dinner ready. And my amazingly smart son told his Daddy, "I go poo" and sure enough, in his diaper, was exactly that! He's so smart!! Just had to brag on him!

Our Christmas Tree

We weren't going to put up a tree this year, for the sole reason that Eli is getting into EVERYTHING and we weren't sure we were ready for this! HA! I decided yesterday that I wanted to have a tree and that we could handle Eli getting into it (if he actually did). So, after Vince went to work, I put the tree up and decorated the house. We kind of compromised and didn't put ornaments on the tree. It has the angel tree topper, lights and ribbons. Everytime Eli sees it with the lights on, he says "Whoa/Wow!" It's so cute to see him having fun with the tree. Christmas just isn't Christmas without the tree!!
