I LOVE having a membership to the zoo! We went again today since we didn't get to see everything the last time we went. The weather couldn't have been any better. We brought a picnic lunch and ate at one of the picnic areas in the zoo. What a fun day!!

Fun at the Park
This afternoon we went to a park to have a picnic lunch with a bunch of Vince's friends/co-workers. We had a great time! The park was so nice and not too far from our house. I have a feeling we'll be going back! Here's some of the pictures from today. To see them all, go HERE.

Crib Dilemma
Well, our crib was recalled back in June (voluntary recall, but a RECALL!). We sent in for the instructions on what to do in order to get a voucher for a replacement crib. It took several weeks in order for us to get our voucher (almost a month actually). We had to take the crib totally apart and send in all the bolts and screws. So, therefore, Eli has been sleeping in a borrowed pack-n-play for the last month and some more!
Well, we finally got our voucher for a replacement crib and went to Babies R' Us to find a new crib. I LOVED the crib we had, so replacing it was a daunting task. We finally found something that was really nice and would match the rest of the furniture in Eli's room. It wasn't available at the time, but was coming in to the warehouse within a few days and then we could order it and have it soon. We got the message yesterday that the crib was in the warehouse and we could come to the store and order it.
We went to Babies R' Us tonight, and they had no more cribs available! WHAT?! We made a special trip to order the crib, and then it's not available? They weren't sure when it was going to be available again. I was beside myself. I was really upset and starting bawling. It's been a frustrating time having Eli sleep in a borrowed pack-n-play this whole time and just having his room in disarray with crib parts all around.
Long story short, we found a pretty nice crib that will work out fine and it is a convertible crib, so that's even better. The bad thing was that it was going to be more than the voucher, quite a big more. Nothing was the same price as the voucher, and everything was much much more! The store manager felt really bad about our inconvenience, so we got a 15% coupon to use on the crib. That's great - we weren't expecting that.
Well, when we checked out, the store manager was running the register we went through. He kept apologizing to us for the inconvenience, and he then said, "let me see what else I can do for you." So, he started "crunching" the numbers. He took $30 off the crib right off the bat. Then he applied the 15% off coupon, so another $45 off. Then our voucher was good for $241.99. After taxes and everything we ended up only having to pay $13.78 extra!!! Praise the Lord! We were grateful for the 15% coupon and weren't expecting anything else. What the store manager did was above and beyond and we are so grateful!!!!!
Here's a picture of our new crib, set to arrive in about a week! Now, just to figure out how to "reuse" the parts of the crib that weren't recalled!!

Grocery Shopping
Well, this is one of our free finds on Freecycle! I bought some spray paint so that it's not pink and purple, but other than that, Elijah loves it and has fun pushing it along!

A walk down memory lane. . . .
I got this from Shyla's blog, so I thought why not!
1. Where/How did you meet? We met online! Gotta love the dating websites :-)
2. How long have you known each other? 5 1/2 years
3. How long after you met did you start dating? We "met" online on a Tuesday, met in person on Friday, started dating on Saturday.
5. How long was your engagement? 2 months
6. How long have you been married? 5 years
7. What is your anniversary? June 10, 2003
8. How many people came to your wedding reception? About 30
10. Where was your wedding? Covington, KY - Justice of the Peace - It was live on the internet - had to continue with the internet theme I guess! ha!
11. What did you serve for your meal? Well, the reception was about 3 weeks after our wedding. Our wedding meal was at Mitchell's Fish Market in Newport, KY (where we live). We went there right after we got married and walked around the town taking pictures. We were still in our wedding clothes and everything!
The reception 3 weeks later had Baked Pasta, salads, and various other hors d'eourves
13. Are you still friends with them all? see above
14. Did your spouse cry during the ceremony? Yup - we both did!
15. Most special moment of your wedding day? Walking around town after the ceremony and taking pictures. It was a lot of fun. Everyone walked around with us taking pictures - so we had a lot of pictures afterwards.
16. Any funny moments?
18. Where did you go on your honeymoon? We went away for a few days to Hocking Hills, OH and stayed at Ravenwood Castle (in the middle of nowhere). We had a lot of fun!
19. How long were you gone? 3 days
20.IF YOU COULD GET MARRIED AGAIN - IS THERE ANYTHING THAT YOU WOULD CHANGE? I would have a really big wedding!
22. Greatest challenge as a couple? Working as a team some times.
24. Describe your wedding dress: It was actually a prom dress on the clearance rack from Macy's after prom season! It was a simple creamy white A-Line dress with double spaghetti straps and a satin shawl.
25. What kind of flowers did you have at your wedding? Made my bouquet with creamy white mums and gerbera daisies. Very simple, but pretty. Other than that, my hair and shoes had mini-white daisy accents in them.
26. Are your wedding bands engraved? Yes - Vince + Abby 6/10/03
27. How old were you when you got married? I was 25, he was 28.

I sat there and watched Eli take out almost every single toy and then take the bin off the shelf after he emptied it! Vince and I got everything cleaned up after Eli went to bed. I can't wait until he can pick up ALL his toys himself!!

This weekend, Vince and I cleaned out our pantry BIG TIME! We took everything out of the pantry, organized, purged, and reloaded everything. It didn't take nearly as long as I thought it would! I ended up with 5 huge bags of items that I put up on Freecycle. Fun times! Here's some before shots!
